JLA Leadership

The Junior League of Albuquerque's Board of Directors ensures the future of the entire organization at all levels. Board members act as trustees and stewards on behalf of our members, including financial management of the League.

The Management Team provides vision across our multiple Council systems – which includes Community, Fundraising, Communications, and Training and Membership. These women make sure that all our League programs are consistent with our mission and that our strategy is pushed forward according to yearly strategic priorities.

Board of Directors

Jennifer (Jenn) James, President

Jennifer grew up a Navy brat and moved every 2-4 years throughout the Mid-Atlantic and a stint in Texas. She graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Government & Politics.

She moved to Albuquerque from the Maryland/DC area in 2002 and worked in media selling radio advertising and sponsorships for both iHeart Media and American General Media. In 2012 she moved into the sports and entertainment industry, working for Spectra Venue Management, as the Director of Corporate Sales at the Santa Ana Star Center, where she is responsible for coordinating all corporate sales for the Santa Ana Star Center to include: Naming Rights, Pouring Rights, Signage opportunities, Premium Seating and Sponsorship opportunities.

She has been an active community member her entire life volunteering as a child for the Special Olympics and delivering holiday food boxes to service men and women on Naval Bases. In addition to serving with the Junior League of Albuquerque, Jennifer is Chair, Board of Directors for the Storehouse NM and on the leadership team for the Rio Rancho Visionaries. When not volunteering or working, Jennifer enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with her significant other Joshua, her Labrador, Khione and family and friends.

Nataley Quintana, President Elect

Nataley Quintana is a native New Mexican, originally from Santa Fe and currently resides in Albuquerque. She is a graduate of Pepperdine University School of Law and member of the New Mexico Bar. She is also a graduate of the University of New Mexico with a B.A. in Psychology. Nataley joined the Junior League of Albuquerque (JLA) as a new member in 2009. In the past, Nataley has served on the Board of Directors of the JLA as Community Vice President (2014-2015 and 2015-2016) Community Member at Large (2013-2014), and Secretary (2012-2013). She has also served as Co-Chair of the New Member Committee, Grant Writer Chair and Assistant Chair, and on the Internal Communications and JLA University committees.

Nataley has always been drawn to volunteering and public service. She has spent her professional career working solely in various government agencies and grew up volunteering for events supporting police officers, veterans, and their families. Additional volunteer service included some time working at the legal clinic on skid row and a spring break service trip for Hurricane Katrina relief. Nataley has also served on the Board of Directors for the Young Professionals of Albuquerque as the Civic Engagement Chair and as a member of the committee.

Natalia Marek Griffin, Executive Vice President

Natalia is from Lexington, Kentucky. She went to Vanderbilt University, where she received her Bachelors in Chemical Engineering and St Louis University, where she received her Masters in International Business. Natalia works as a Risk Manager for Century Automotive Service Corporation and is responsible for underwriting, pricing, and risk analysis functions, and oversees the IT team.

Natalia Joined the Junior League in 2007, and transferred her membership to Albuquerque in 2015. She credits her League membership with giving her the opportunity to grow as a leader. She has applied the skills she has learned in the League to both her other volunteer service and to her career.

When she is not volunteering, Natalia and her husband Mike are busy keeping up with their triplet boys born in 2016, Daniel, Victor, and Jeffrey.

Anna Doss, Treasurer

Anna is a native to Albuquerque and joined the Junior League of Albuquerque in 2010. Anna attended the University of New Mexico receiving her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 2005.

Upon graduation, she worked at Intel Corporation as a Product Development Engineer for nearly a decade before focusing on project management freelance work within the company. Anna serves on the steering committee of the Women at Intel Network (NM), and she also a member of Kiwanis having participated in various leadership roles with the Kiwanis family since high school.

During her time in JLA, she has participated in nearly all councils and she is looking forward to contributing on the board. Anna enjoys traveling, discovering new foods, and is a glass blowing student at Aurora Borealis Glassworks.

D'Aun (Dee) Flesher, Secretary

D'Aun ("Dee") is from Deming, NM, and graduated from the Oregon Institute of Technology in Klamath Falls, OR, with a Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy. She holds credentials as a Neonatal/Pediatric Specialist, Certified Asthma Educator, and CPR Instructor. After briefly living in Spokane, WA, she returned to Albuquerque in 2011 to be closer to family. She joined the Junior League in 2016 to develop meaningful friendships with local women and to gain experience outside the healthcare environment.

She is constantly finding new things to learn, and she loves her current job as an outpatient pediatric respiratory therapist and asthma educator. Dee likes to stay busy, so she also provides freelance writing and editing services and volunteers as a Peer Editor for Respiratory Care Journal. In the past, she has enjoyed working as a bartender, radio morning show host, and city newspaper copy editor. For fun, she loves playing Blackjack (especially in Las Vegas!) and trying anything new. She is currently pursuing her Green Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma and learning Spanish.

Ellen Nash, Sustainer Director

Ellen Nash is a public relations and communications specialist whose work has supported public sector, private sector, and non-profit sector organizations. She joined the Junior League and the Association of Junior Leagues, International in 1995, and she was pleased to become a member of the Junior League of Albuquerque (JLA) in 2002 when she moved to New Mexico. As of 2009, Ms. Nash is an independent consultant providing communications and public event services for client projects. This new role has allowed her to also pursue a commitment to providing music education to children. Also in 2009, Ms. Nash transitioned from Active Member status in JLA to Sustaining Member status. Now, after several years in ‘retirement’ from JLA, Ms. Nash is honored to return to service for JLA as Sustainer Director on the 2017-2018 Board of Directors.

Management Team

Darlene Noyes, Treasurer-Elect

Darlene was born and raised in Northern California. She has been a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico for 13 years. She received her Bachelor's of Arts degree in Liberal Studies from St. Mary's College of California and then went on the complete her Master's of Nursing in Case Management degree from Samuel Merritt College. She worked as a Labor and Delivery RN for 7 years until she had her children. She then chose to stay home with her children and work part time for her husband's dental office as a bookkeeper.

She joined the league in 2011 to be a part of the community through volunteering. She has experienced different roles as part of the fundraising, community, training/membership and communications committees. Being part of the league has allowed her to meet some amazing women, educate herself on the functions of a non-profit organization, and participate in some inspiring volunteer opportunities.

When she is not managing her children's busy schedules or working she loves going hiking, trying new foods, painting, and watching movies or playing games with her husband, John, and children Mia (11) and Kai (9).

Jennifer (Jen) Bishop, Communications Director

Jen moved to Albuquerque in 2016, transferring from the Junior League of Greenwich, CT, which she joined in 2014. She has served on the fundraising/events committee for the past two years. She spent the last eighteen years on the east coast and is a new Southwestern transplant. She works at Presbyterian Rust Medical Center.

When not at work or Junior League activities, she enjoys spending time with her husband and Yorkshire terrier, Guy. A graduate of Wellesley College ('03), she is passionate about women's health and wellness, women's rights, skiing, fine arts, ballroom dancing, and gluten free baking/cooking.

Nicole Kaufman, Community Director

Nicole is a native New Mexican, who grew up in the North Valley of Albuquerque. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Family Studies at the University of New Mexico. She then earned her Masters of Social Work with a specialization in Child Welfare at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.

Nicole's career experiences include Child Protective Services, Medicaid Behavioral Health Case Manager, Teacher, and currently as a High School Social Worker. She enjoys her role as a high school dance coach.

Nicole has always enjoyed volunteering and serving the community. She is very involved in serving at her church. In Arizona, she helped start a non profit, i6eight, which builds homes and supports a community to promote healthy families in Mexico. She has participated in numerous international mission trips. Nicole joined Junior League Albuquerque in 2014. She says it has been the greatest opportunity to connect with amazing women and serve the community.

Nikki Mulligan, Fundraising Director

Nikki grew up in the not-so-small-anymore town of Grand Junction, Colorado. She attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins, where she met her husband, Matt, and moved to Albuquerque in 2005 for his career at HB Construction. She finished earning her B.S. in Psychology at UNM, and shortly after began their family. Nikki is now a full-time mom to 4 beautiful kiddos, ages 9, 7, 4, 2. She joyfully home schools her kids part-time, while they also attend Oak Grove Classical Academy, a private, Christian, university-model school. She and her husband sit on the school board to OGCA, and she serves as Fund Development Director for the school. Nikki also serves as the Booster President and Spirit Squad Head Coach. She also is developing a home business of embroidery and monogramming called Just For You by Nikki.

Nikki joined the Junior League in 2007, and is forever thankful for the lifetime friendships she has made, and the trainings she has received. She has held positions throughout the league, including Holiday Ole committee, Done In a Day committee and Chair, New Member Advisor, Community VP and MAL, Membership Recruitment Retention and Placement, and Secretary.

When she's not volunteering in league or at school, she enjoys working on home projects, spending time in the craft room, taking family trips and spending time outside with her husband and kids.

Michelle Estrada-Lopez, Training and Membership Director

Michelle joined the Junior League of Albuquerque in 2009 when she moved from Las Cruces to begin her career in Civil Engineering. Michelle is a graduate of New Mexico State University (MSCE 2009, BSCE 2007) proving that not everyone is a Lobo (Go Aggies!)

The Junior League played a vital role in helping Michelle feel like part of the community in Albuquerque. When not volunteering with JLA, she is a Project Manager for the Bureau of Reclamation and a Jazzercise Instructor. She is also quite busy keeping current on all things ninja-related with her son, Donovan, and husband, Daniel.
