Dear Members,

Over the last couple of years, we made strategic changes to align our work with our mission, values, and vision. Our world has changed so much that we will be focusing again on updating our strategic plan and positioning our League for growth. We have a couple of major changes that will immediately impact our League. 

In May, the Association of Junior Leagues International voted on an updated version of our Mission Statement. “The Association of Junior Leagues International, Inc. is an organization of women whose Mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training.” We will be adopting this mission statement over the next two years. 

We have also moved to a rolling admissions style of recruitment. This will allow women to join our League at any time during the year! We hope that with this change we will be able to meet women where they are at when they are considering joining our League. 

We will continue to focus on our community impact and our members’ leadership development. We will also continue to focus on “right sizing” our work internally and externally. This includes maintaining our current Leadership and Committee structures. 

We have continued to make a meaningful impact in our community by responding to the wildfire needs, while still providing diapers to our partners. We continue to bring in and provide thousands of diapers to families in need. 

Our current Leadership is looking forward to making changes to our Strategic Plan, updating our goals and imbedding Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategies within our Leagues plan. 

The Fund Development Committee has been working hard the last couple of years to create a strategy to bring in diversified funds. We are looking forward to seeing and sharing our fund development plan as it is coming to life this year. 

Look for updates on upcoming events and how we are doing throughout the year in our E-Blast, Link Newsletter, Digital Cheetah calendar and social media feeds! I also hope to provide special communications on what is happening on a Board level throughout the year. 

I look forward to these next couple of years, listening to our members and working with our Leadership team to make meaningful changes within our League and continue to make an impact in our community.
